The cooperative Jesús del Perdón (Jesus del Perdón) was founded on March 20, 1954 as a response to the needs of a group of 102 grape growers in the area to produce and sell the products obtained from their farms, and protect themselves from the speculations they were subjected to.
From the 1960s to the 1990s, more land was acquired and mergers occurred through the absorption of various cooperatives. In 1969, Jesús del Perdón began to bottle its first wines.
In 1974, the brands Yuntero Pálido Manzanares and Yuntero Tinto Fino were registered.
In the 1980s, the cooperative began exporting its products to Europe and the USA.
In 1992, under the brand Mundo de Yuntero, the first organic wine from Castilla-La Mancha was produced. At the same time, there was a transition to stainless steel tanks and a significant increase in the number of barrels.
In the early 2000s, the cooperative was certified according to ISO and BRC quality standards.
Currently, Bodegas Yuntero consists of 1,035 members and owns nearly 11,000 hectares of vineyards, more than 1,500 of which are cultivated using organic methods, some with authentic ecologically sustainable systems, promoting biodiversity. They offer a wide range of white and red grape varieties, often grown organically for decades.
Natural and sustainable production brings numerous benefits to the environment, product quality, and human health. Bodegas Yuntero opposes the use of large quantities of chemical active ingredients harmful to health and the environment, replacing them with more effective natural solutions to combat pests and diseases commonly used in conventional agriculture.
