Domaine Albert Mann (Domaine Albert Mann) is the result of the joint work of the Mann and Barthélémy families, who have been engaged in viticulture and winemaking since the early 17th century. Today, the winery is managed by the brothers Maurice and Jackie Barthélémy, along with their wives.
The goal of Domaine Albert Mann is to produce wine in harmony with nature. Domaine Albert Mann wines are able to tell us about the grapes from which they are made and convey the taste of the terroir. Since 2000, the winery's wines have been certified by Ecocert, and biodynamic principles have been implemented on certain plots since 1997. Since 2010, Domaine Albert Mann has been in the process of obtaining biodynamic certification from Biodyvin. Measures are taken in the vineyards to deeply root the vines to penetrate the mineral-rich deep layers of soil; the soil and vines are not treated with chemical herbicides or insecticides, and only natural animal and plant-based fertilizers are used. Cultivated yeast is not used in the winery, only natural "wild" yeast from the grape skins. The use of sulfur dioxide is kept to a minimum. Despite the labor-intensive and costly nature of these practices, the Barthélémy family considers them the best way to reflect the terroir characteristics of each plot in the wine.
On 23 hectares of vineyards at Domaine Albert Mann, divided into over 100 plots, grapes such as Auxerrois, Pinot Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, and Muscat are cultivated.
